Every road has a story. Not the ones in the guidebooks — those are for tourists. I'm talking about the roads that show up on no map, the highways where the last gas station closed twenty years ago, the stretches of pavement that run straight for a hundred miles through nothing at all.
I've spent decades finding these stories. County records, survey maps from the 1930s, satellite imagery, old newspaper clippings from towns that don't exist anymore. Every road was built by someone, for some reason, and most of those reasons are stranger than anything you'd make up.
That's what the films are about.
The places people forgot — and the roads that still lead there. If you've ever wondered what's at the end of a highway that disappears off the edge of every map, you're in the right place.
